Clever ChryslerChrysler transformed the current
Grand Voyager MPV when it introduced the Stow 'n' Go seats.
Folding into recesses in the floor when they're not needed, the seats are genuinely innovative and useful - hauling heavy seats out of people carriers can be back-breaking work.
As a result of this clever system, we awarded the Grand Voyager MPV of the Year in our 2006 What Car? awards.
Now, this all-new Grand Voyager arrives in early 2008, and as well as Stow 'n' Go, it'll to come with a new seating option with a twist.
Called Swivel 'n' Go, the second row of seats can rotate, so you can create a 'family room on wheels'.
You can't stow the swivelling seats, but a table pops out of the floor, so mums could turn a pair of children around to face their friends in the third row over breakfast on the way to school - or you could have a board meeting on the way to the airport.
How cool is it?Very - there are lots of other features that aim to keep the family friendly or the meeting running smoothly.
There are power sockets for powering Nintendo DS consoles or laptops, sun blinds to draw for the big presentation and a dual-screen DVD system that can play different films so you don't have to have that
Finding Nemo/Shrek II argument again.
Engines? There'll be both petrol and diesel engines, but details are a little scarce at the moment. There's no clue yet as to what size or type of petrol unit you might find, but the majority of buyers will probably be looking at diesel.
They'll be pleased, then, that the most likely diesel powerplant is the latest 2.8-litre Chrysler's sister-company, Jeep, is using it in the new
Wrangler.
