Detroit motor show 2008 - Introduction

It's just two weeks into the new year, and the motor show merry-go-round is in full swing again.

First stop is Detroit, with its mix of worldwide production car debuts, concept cars that spark the imagination and quirky oddballs that no self-respecting motorshow should be without.

There's something to whet every appetite, from dream machines such as Audi's diesel R8 supercar, ground-breaking concept cars such as Land Rover's LRX, and worldwide debuts of new cars coming to showrooms near you soon, such as VW's Passat CC and BMW's X6.

Throw in some star name actors, such as Sex in the City's Kim Cattrall, as well as a host of chart-topping musicians, such as Brian Adams, Kid Rock and Alicia Keys, and the 'wow' factor is guaranteed.
