This exclusive computer-generated image reveals what next year's new Audi A6 Allroad will look like.
Based on a concept unveiled at the Detroit Show at the beginning of this year, the new Allroad goes on sale in the UK next summer. Expect to pay from around £32,000.
Allroad buyers will have a choice of just three engines from launch – the 3.2 and 4.2 petrols and 3.0 turbodiesel from the A6 range. The 4.0 turbodiesel is likely to follow a little later.
Initially Audi said it wouldn’t develop a second-generation version of the Allroad as sales were slow after its launch in 2000. However, sales did pick up and now more than 100,000 of the cars have been built.
Like its predecessor, the new Allroad it will have a permanent four-wheel-drive system and adaptive air suspension that allows the ride height of the car to be altered. There'll be no low-range gears for added traction in really slippery conditions, however.
Audi's first dedicated off-roader, the Q7, also goes on sale next summer with prices starting at £37,285.
