Face-lift for Skoda Superb

28 July 2006

Skoda has given its Superb saloon a mid-life face-lift and a new top trim level.

The radiator grille is reshaped and now surrounded in chrome, while the headlights and tail lights are also updated. Door mirrors also now house indicator lights.

Dashboard controls are rearranged a little, while the existing trim levels of Classic, Comfort and Elegance are joined by a range-topping Laurin & Klement specification.

As well as a unique exterior look, with polished 17-inch alloy wheels and twin exhaust, the cabin is also fitted out with extra equipment including leather upholstery, wood panelling and metal trim.

Engines will be carried over from the existing pool of three petrols, which offer 114bhp, 148bhp or 190bhp, and the five diesels developing 100bhp, 105bhp, 130bhp, 140bp and 160bhp.

Final pricing and specification levels are yet to be announced, but production of the updated cars starts in a couple of weeks, so expect to see them in the UK by the end of the summer.

An all-new version of the car is due in 2008.
