Mazda's 2 supermini has had a face-lift, and now has improved equipment levels. Entry-level prices have fallen, too.
New front and rear lights are fitted to the car, along with a black (instead of a body-coloured) C-pillar. Inside, Mazda says cabin trim and upholstery are improved to give a higher-quality feel, while steering wheel-mounted stereo controls are also easier to use than the previous model.
All models also now feature a CD player as well as improved anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, and emergency brake assist.
The 74bhp 1.25-, 79bhp 1.4- and 99bhp 1.6-litre petrol engines continue, along with the 67bhp 1.4-litre diesel.
Buyers still have three trims to choose from, starting with S, which drops in price by £185 with the 1.25 petrol to £8700, and by £90 with the diesel to £9740. Besides the new CD player, S models include remote central locking, dual front airbags, height-adjustable driver's seat and an alarm.
Antares specification is now £205 more expensive at £9200 with the 1.4-litre petrol, and offers air-conditioning, electric front windows and a folding passenger seat.
Capella cars now cost from £10,100 with the same 79bhp engine, a £105 increase in price. For the money, you'll have electric rear windows, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors and alloy wheels as standard.
