Facelifted Bentley Continental GT and Continental Flying Spur revealed

The Bentley Continental GT and Bentley Continental Flying Spur have been facelifted, with the new-look cars having been unveiled at the Geneva motor show.

The changes, made in response to requests made by customers, focus on powertrain, technology and interior comfort improvements.

Bentley Continental GT facelift

While the V8 engine remains unchanged, the twin-turbo 6.0-litre W12 has more torque and power, delivering 582bhp (up 15bhp) and 531lb ft (up 15lb ft).

Fuel economy is also improved by 5% thanks to a variable displacement system being adopted. Emissions are 329g/km (down from 338g/km) and fuel economy at 20.0mpg (up from 19.5mpg).

Highlights of the exterior changes include a new front bumper design, smaller radiator shell and bright chrome badges denoting the engine type. At the rear, the boot lid is more sculpted and the rear bumper has been reshaped and widened. New 20 and 21-inch wheel designs are also available, as well as three new paint colours.

In addition, V8 S and GT Speed models get a new rear diffuser design, to differentiate them from less performance focused Continentals.

All the Continental GT’s driver controls are also new, and buyers can opt to have a sportier steering wheel and larger gear-shift paddles fitted. The interior gets more chrome detailing, plus new dials and graphics and a revised surround for the centre console.

Further options include onboard wi-fi, plus new cushion, backrest and leather detailing and colour options.

Bentley Continental Flying Spur facelift

The Bentley Continental Flying Spur’s W12 engine now has 612bhp and 590lb ft of torque. Emissions are 333g/km of CO2 (down from 343g/km), again as a result of the addition of a variable displacement system.

The Flying Spur also gets new 20 and 21-inch wheel designs, new interior finish options, an updated cabin including more modern graphics, an updated steering wheel design and a wi-fi hotspot system as standard.

When will the facelifted Bentleys go on sale?
