As well as Fiat's eco models, the company is showing off some of its new developments to its current range in Paris.

500 Abarth esseesse
The 500 Abarth esseesse is the hottest version of the supermini yet. It has a full bodykit, tweaked suspension, an uprated engine and bigger wheels.

Although details have yet to be released, early reports suggest that the 1.4-litre engine will have around 160bhp.

It is expected to go on sale in the UK is late January.

No prices have been announced, but they are expected to start from around £16,000.

Bravo
There's a Bravo with a new 165bhp 2.0-litre diesel on show. The engine is compliant with Euro 5 emissions, which come into force next year. The car is capable of 53mpg and it will be on sale in Britain by early 2009.

Grande Punto
A face-lifted Grande Punto is on show in Paris, and it differs from the car currently on sale thanks to a revised exterior and more kit.

UK specs and prices have yet to be revealed, but Fiat promises that the updated car can be personalised with stickers and different-coloured door mirrors.

Qubo
Although we've already driven this van-like MPV, Paris is the first time that many will actually see the Qubo in the metal. The best thing about the car is its clever use of interior space.

Sedici
Fiat's 4x4 will have a new four-wheel-drive system that operates in two-wheel-drive mode in normal on-road conditions, but automatically switches to four-wheel-drive when conditions deteriorate or grip is lost.
