Fiat has revised its Idea MPV range with more standard equipment, more engine options and a slight face-lift. There are price rises of between £300 and £600, too.
On sale now, the updated range costs from £10,295 to £13,195. Active, Dynamic and Eleganza trims remain, and a 90bhp 1.3-litre diesel joins the 95bhp 1.4-litre petrol and 70bhp 1.3-litre diesel engines.
Entry-level Active models increase in price by £300 to £10,295 for the 1.4-litre petrol and £11,095 for the lower-rated 1.3-litre diesel. A CD player is now added to the standard equipment of driver and passenger airbags, remote central locking, anti-lock brakes and front electric windows.
Dynamic trim is available with the 1.4-litre petrol for £11,745, £500 more than before, but now uses a six-speed manual gearbox. With the 90bhp diesel, Dynamic costs £12,995. Side and curtain airbags join the standard equipment list, which includes air-conditioning, rear parking sensors and electrically operated and heated door mirrors.
Eleganza is still only available with the 1.4-litre petrol engine at £13,195, a rise of £700. A six-speed manual gearbox is now fitted as standard, as well as a large electric sunroof. Dual-zone climate control, rear electric windows, alloy wheels, part-leather trim, steering wheel-mounted stereo controls and overhead stowage compartments are also fitted in addition to Dynamic features.
The 90bhp diesel is nearly three seconds faster to 62mph than the 70bhp version with a time of 12.5sec, but combined fuel economy is only 0.8mpg worse at 44.8mpg. Top speed increases from 99mph to 108mph.
