Fiat offers three new engines for Doblo

15 December 2005

Fiat has overhauled and expanded its Doblo budget MPV range with three new engines.

The 65bhp 1.2-litre petrol option has been replaced by a 77bhp 1.4-litre engine. Prices rise by £500 and now start at £9595 for a model in Active specification, and £10,495 for a Dynamic model.

Although 1.9 seconds quicker to 62mph, it still takes 17 seconds to reach the benchmark. Top speed increases by 4mph to 92mph, while combined economy improves marginally to 38.2mpg.

The 70bhp 1.3-litre diesel option is now 15bhp more powerful, and is priced from £9795 in Active trim, a £500 increase. Although 7mph faster overall, the more powerful 1.3-litre takes 0.3sec longer to reach 62mph, with a time of 16.4sec. Combined fuel consumption is unchanged at 51.4mpg.

Buyers now have a choice of the 1.9-litre diesel in two power outputs. The 105bhp version continues unchanged in all except price, which is up £300 to £10,695.

A new 120bbhp version is priced from £11,095. It's 1.1sec quicker than the 105bhp car to 62mph with a time of 12.2sec, and 8mph faster, with a maximum speed of 110mph. Combined economy is only a little worse at 46.3mpg instead of 48.7mpg.

Active trim continues to include electric front windows, remote central locking and twin airbags, while Family models add a third row of two seats and front foglights. Dynamic models also have air-conditioning, a CD player and 15-inch alloy wheels.
