Skoda has released the first teaser image of the Superb hatchback, which goes on sale in the UK in September 2008.
Although heavily disguised images of the flagship Skoda model undergoing testing in Death Valley have already been seen, this is the first official picture of the finished car.
The Superb is an all-new car, which the company hopes will attract potential Ford Mondeo buyers.
Although details remain unconfirmed, the petrol engine line-up is likely to include a turbocharged and supercharged 120bhp 1.4-litre unit, a turbocharged 160bhp 1.8-litre, a 197bhp 2.0-litre and a 3.6-litre V6.
Diesels should include two 2.0-litre options with either 138bhp or 168bhp, and possibly 2.7-litre and 3.0-litre units.
Prices are expected to start from around £14,000.
