Subaru has released pictures of its updated Legacy Touring Wagon and Outback models, which will go on sale in the UK by early 2010.
The new cars are bigger with Subaru investing in a completely new platform that brings an 80mm increase in wheelbase (75mm for the Outback), and 50mm boost in width.
The cars will initially be available with an engine range from 2.5 to 3.6-litre, but Europe is also expected to get an updated version of Subaru's 2.0-litre Boxer diesel.
The Legacy also benefits from a raft of new technology including Lineartronic CVT automatic transmission, which will help boost fuel economy and lower carbon dioxide emissions.
The cabin is also roomier, and more accessible than before, thanks to larger rear door openings. The driver's rear visibility is improved by a redesign of the tail-end door pillars. More interior space has been freed up with an electronic parking brake and new front seats with concave backs, to create more rear legroom.
