First picture: 2015 Suzuki Vitara

  •  New SUV from Suzuki
  •  Set to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show
  •  Based on IV-4 concept seen at Frankfurt 2013

Suzuki has shown the first image of the all-new Suzuki Vitara SUV, which will go on sale next spring as a rival to the Citroen C4 Cactus, Nissan Juke, Renault Captur and Vauxhall Mokka.

The boldly styled new car is due to be officially unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show in October and looks to be closely related to the IV-4 concept revealed in Frankfurt last year.

Details will be scarce until the official unveiling, aside from the facts that it is a five-door car with optional AllGrip four-wheel drive and a choice of petrol or diesel engines.

Suzuki is promising 'outstanding' fuel economy for the sector and a wealth of personalisation options both inside and out to help the Vitara stand out in a congested market segment.

The new Vitara is expected to slot into the range below the good-value SX4 S-Cross compact SUV, as a more rugged and lifestyle-focused alternative that offers genuine off-road potential.
