Here is the first picture of the Aston DBS Volante, which will be unveiled in the metal at next week's Geneva motor show.

The car has a fabric roof that operates at the push of a button. It takes 14 seconds to go down and can function at speeds of up to 30mph.

The car is powered by Aston 's 510bhp 6.0-litre V12 engine, which has 420lb ft of pulling power. It has a top speed of 191mph and can blast from 0-62mph in 4.3 seconds.

A six-speed manual gearbox is standard, but buyers can opt for a six-speed semi–automatic unit.

As with the coupe version, the Volante has carbon ceramic brakes as standard. Buyers can also opt for 20-inch alloy wheels that reduce the Volante's weight by 8kg.

Aston describes the car as a 2+2, saying the rear seats are for 'younger persons or extra luggage'.

A Bang & Olufsen BeoSound DBS stereo takes care of music, with 13 speakers and a system that automatically detects if the roof is up or down and adjusts the output accordingly.

The Aston DBS Volante will go on sale this autumn, with prices to be confirmed at the Geneva motor show.
