Footballers offered extra driving lesson

Professional footballers have been offered advanced driving training to make them safer on the road.
The Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) has teamed up with British School of Motoring (BSM) to provide tuition to help players avoid accidents such as Cristiano Ronaldo's high-profile crash (in a Manchester motorway tunnel) in January.
Players from League Two youth teams to Premier League stars are being offered both practical and classroom-based lessons to help improve their on-road awareness.
PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor said: 'As many youngsters look up to footballers we need to show leadership in important areas such as road safety.'
Niko Kesting, joint managing director of BSM, added: 'Young males are more likely to be involved in accidents, so anything that BSM and the PFA can do to improve safety is good for all road users.'
