Ford's 100 years in photos – 11/52

16 March 2011

Ford is celebrating 100 years in Britain by delving into its archive of photographs.

This week's picture from July 1934 shows how the Royal family has taken an interest in the company's activities.

It shows the Prince of Wales, later King Edward Vlll, visiting the sprawling Ford Dagenham estate. Sixty-six years later the current Prince of Wales continued the tradition with a visit to the Bridgend factory where the company's new 1.6-litre Ecoboost petrol engine is made.
