These are the first sketches of the Ford Verve concept car, which strongly hints of how Ford's new Fiesta will look when it goes on sale in mid-2008.
Visually, it is said to be close to how the production Fiesta will look - the only major differences are likely to be a raised roofline, smaller wheels and a slightly less dramatic front spoiler.
No engine details have been released, by the range is expected to include 1.3-, 1.6- and 1.8-litre petrols and 1.4- and 1.6-litre diesels.
It is based on the same platform as the Mazda 2 to keep production costs down.
The Verve is described as 'a bold statement about our vision for future Ford small cars' so it also gives clues to how other small cars such as the next Ka may look.
Its interior also features some radical designs, including a dashboard inspired by the layout and style of mobile phones, according to Ford.
The Verve concept car will be shown at the Frankfurt motor show.
