Ford and Vauxhall to raise prices

Ford and Vauxhall will increase most of their car prices by around 5%.

The entire Ford range is affected, with prices going up by an average of 4.7%.

List prices for entry-level cars are now:

  • Ka £7945 - up £138

  • Fiesta £9195 - up £724

  • Fusion £11,995 - up £487

  • Focus £13,435 up - £867

  • Focus Coupe-Cabriolet £18,795 - up £1223

  • C-MAX £14,595 - up £859

  • Kuga £18,995 - up £552

  • Mondeo £16,595 - up £1059

  • S-MAX £19,195 - up £1057

  • Galaxy £21,295 - up £1200


  • Vauxhall
    Vauxhall is increasing prices on all models, apart from the Vectra and VXR8, by an average of just under 5%.

    Haggle hard, though
    While list prices are rising, buyers are reminded that there has never been a better time to buy a new car, and that they should haggle as hard as ever for discounts.

    The future
    Both companies say the price rises are necessary because of sterling's weak position compared with the Euro.

    As a result, they have also warned that future currency fluctuations could lead to further price rises.
