Frankfurt 2009: Lexus round-up

16 September 2009

What’s new?
2010 model year updates for Lexus’ saloon models

What’s changed?
With a new RX SUV recently arrived in showrooms and a premium small hatch, the LF-CH, in the offing, Lexus has undertaken a bit of spring-cleaning on the rest of its range.

The company's Frankfurt show stand features refreshed versions of the IS, GS and LS saloons, all of which are due in showrooms between now and the end of the year.

The company's smallest offering, the IS, becomes available with a bodykit from the high-performance IS-F, which gets the option of a limited-slip differential to sharpen its handling.

There are also new audio and navigation systems, which carry across to the mid-sized GS as well. The LS's styling has been tweaked to emphasise the fact that the car is a hybrid, and there are additional safety features.

The flagship LS gets revised exterior looks, interior trim, seating and equipment, plus modifications to the hybrid power system that are said to improve how it drives.
