What's the star of the stand? The all-new S-Class luxury saloon – with the emphasis on luxury – takes centre stage of the Mercedes display.
In a quest to regain the title of ‘best car in the world’, Mercedes has loaded the new S with gadgets and comforts aplenty, including infrared night vision, massaging seats, a panoramic sunroof (in the long-wheelbase version) and programmable air suspension.
Inside, the car looks beautifully finished – you won’t find a plastic switch anywhere, they’re all made of metal. The dash is made of wood and the upholstery is leather, of course.
They say'This is the most technically-advanced car ever. Pioneering safety features and exemplary comfort continue to be the outstanding attributes of the S-Class.'
We sayLet’s hope it doesn’t break down. Merc has promised to put reliability ahead of technology. Time will tell…
Anything else?Mercedes has been busy of late rolling out the new B-Class, R-Class and M-Class in the past few months. They’re all here, so it’s a good time to get acquainted with the new members of the family.
Mercedes is also making a big deal of its technology showcase, which airs the company's latest enhancements. Displays include the new direct-injection petrol engines, new catalytic converter systems, as well as a host of new safety devices fitted on the new S-Class.
