The Journey is the centrepiece of Dodge's stand at this year's show.
It is a seven-seater MPV, although the two rearmost seats are only for occasional use, and will go on sale in Europe in mid-2008.
It effectively replaces the Chrysler Voyager because, rather than have competing cars in the same sector, sister brand Chrysler will drop its Voyager MPV (but not the
Grand Voyager) when the Journey is launched.
The front-wheel-drive MPV will be available with a VW-sourced 2.0-litre turbodiesel and a 145bhp 2.4-litre petrol shared with Mitsubishi.
Standard safety features include front, side and curtain airbags, stability control and an electronic anti-roll system.
Options include a rear parking camera, sat-nav, an in-car fridge and rear-seat DVD players.
Prices will be revealed closer to the car's launch but are expected to start at around £18,000.
