Frankfurt motor show 2007 - Ford Kuga

11 September 2007
Kuga is the first 4x4 Ford has built all by itself, and you'll get to see it in UK showrooms next spring.

Based on the Focus small family car, it's more soft-roader than proper off-roader. As such, it should be good to drive on Tarmac.

Initially it will be powered by a 130bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine matched to a six-speed manual gearbox, but expect to see Volvo's 2.5-litre petrol unit follow.

The Kuga has permanent four-wheel drive, similar to the system found in Volvo's XC70.

Expect prices to start at around £20,000.
