Honda's
Accord Tourer Concept gives a clear indication of the direction for the next generation of the Accord, which goes on sale in the UK from mid-2008.
It will be powered by 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre petrol engines and a 2.2-litre diesel engine, as with the current Accord range.
No power figures have been released, but Honda says there has been no drop in performance, despite efficiency gains which mean that the entire range complyies with Euro V regulations.
Its wider, lower look signifies Honda's push to present a sportier look and appeal to a younger generation of car buyers.
The extra width also aids stability and handling, allowing Honda to hit higher performance levels.
Production versions of the new Accord saloon and tourer will be shown for the first time at the 2008 Geneva motor show.
Honda concepts in Frankfurt included the Small Hybrid Sports Concept, which was first seen at this year's Geneva motor show.
The petrol-electric hybrid system drives through the front wheels, while sports suspension and compact dimensions aim to enhance the handling.
The FCX Concept is the third generation of Honda's zero-emission fuel cell technology, which it has been working on since 1989.
The car on display is driveable, and a production version of the FCX will go sale in the US and Japan in 2008.
