Frankfurt motor show 2007 - Lamborghini

Tuesday, September 11, 2007
Lamborghini has upped the stakes with the launch of its Reventon, which costs a cool one million Euros (over £680,000) - and just 20 examples will be made.

In order to justify the price tag (which is pre-tax, in case you're considering one), the Murcielago LP640-based car boasts a completely new exterior made from carbon fibre.

It is powered by a 650bhp 6.5-litre V12, which has a top speed of 210mph and a 0-62mph time of 3.4sec.

The engine is housed beneath a glass laminate engine cover.

Gearchanges are performed by a system called e.gear, which works via two small levers beneath the steering wheel.

The engine cooling system, air intakes and brakes all come from the Murcielago LP640, but the rear spoiler is unique to the car.

Other features include carbon fins on the wheels, which aid cooling to the brakes, and an Alcantara, carbonfibre, aluminium and leather interior.

Three interior flat-screen displays show information including a G-force meter.

The price tag doesn't allow for any variation in colour choice, however. It is only available in a opaque green-grey, which has been called Reventon.

Despite the price, the car has already sold out, with just one example tipped to be coming to the UK.
