Hand-built range-topping A5 coupe Powered by 4.2-litre V8 engine 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds
This is the new flagship for the revised Audi range, the RS5.
It's powered by a 442bhp 4.2-litre V8 engine that's closely related to the V10 in the R8 supercar – and it gives suitably R8-esque performance. It dispatches the 0-62mph sprint in 4.6 seconds – the standard seven-speed semi-automatic gearbox includes a launch control program – and, if you want, Audi will raise the electronically limited top speed from 155 to 174mph.
Like all RS models, the RS5 has four-wheel drive, and on this model most of the suspension components are made of aluminium to save weight, while the car sits 20mm lower than a regular A5.
Standard on every RS5 will be Audi Drive Select, which lets the driver choose from three modes – Comfort, Auto and Dynamic – and adjusts the response of the steering, transmission and accelerator.
There is also a stability control program, which includes a sport mode and can be switched off entirely, while among the options is a sport suspension system with dynamic ride control. This adjusts the shock absorbers to make the car more stable in high-speed cornering.

Numerous touches make the RS5 stand out from regular A5s, such as the black brake calipers, xenon headlamps, twin oval exhausts and unique bodykit.
Inside, the standard sports seats are trimmed in a mixture of leather and Alcantara, and the revisions for this model extend to a redesign for the ignition key, steering column stalks and gear lever knob.
Finally, the pedals are trimmed in an aluminium-look finish, the gauges have red needles and the driver information system includes an RS menu with a lap timer.
