Frankfurt motor show 2013 - Jaguar C-X17 concept
* Jaguar SUV concept revealed * Previews potential BMW X3 rival * Production car could be on sale by 2016...
Jaguar has released two early images of its C-X17 concept.
The car, due to be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show on Tuesday, is designed to preview the look of a potential Jaguar SUV.
No official information has been released, but the C-X17 is thought to be about the same size as a BMW X3, and will also showcase new technologies. It may also preview the company's new design direction, which could feature on replacements for the XF, XJ and a rumoured BMW 3 Series rival.
In the past, senior Jaguar designers and management have admitted to What Car? that it is important for Jaguar to enter the SUV market, with a sporty, good looking 4x4. It is thought that the real thing could be on sale by 2016.
Full details of the C-X17 concept will be available on Monday 9 September at 4.30pm on whatcar.com.
