FRill a minute Seat Leon - Introduction

30 June 2006
If you're building a hot hatch, it's hard to think of a better starting point than the latest Golf GTI. Fast, fun and practical, the only major sticking point is the hefty £20,000 price tag. Seat clearly agrees.

Its new Leon FR borrows many GTI mechanicals from parent company Volkswagen, including the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. However, Seat charges just £16,995, a price that also undercuts its other stablemate (and our reigning Hot Hatch of the Year) the Skoda Octavia vRS.

Intrigued? Read on to see if its driving dynamics match that sweet price.
