My Mercedes has been in the garage since Monday with fuel problems, oxygen sensor failure and possible catalytic converter damage. The car was refuelled on Feb 16 at Asda, Shoeburyness, Essex. Adsa was not commenting on who supplies their fuel when I called them yesterday.

My wife's Vauxhall Corsa is suffering from dirty fuel. She last bought petrol from our local TCS garage in Oxted, Surrey.

My BMW has been in with the main dealer since last Tuesday, after suffering exactly the same issues as described. I'm waiting parts from Germany and a bill estimated at over £2000 for a new ECU and Lamba sensor. I use Tesco High Barnet for all my fuel.

About seven months ago, my daughter had a similar problem with her Peugeot 306 TD. She had filled up with diesel at Tesco's garage at Top Valley, Nottingham.

An examination by the RAC said the fuel was contaminated and was a whiteish cloudy colour. The tank had to be drained and flushed and new filters fitted, which cured the problem. She was lucky that it didn't wreck the injector pump.

I had problems after filling my Hyundai Lantra 1.6 with petrol at Tesco Gt. Yarmouth.

It had poor acceleration and misfired, especially in low gears.

I filled up my Kawasaki ZX9R at the World of Leather Esso garage on the South Circular road a couple of days ago and now it is spluttering and suffering reduced power.

I haven't had problems yet, but in January this year after filling up at Tesco, my car 'died' at a roundabout for no particular reason and I had great trouble starting it again. When I took it to the Volvo garage they thought it had something to do with the fuel.
