I have been without my car for the past three days as it is undriveable.
I have a W-reg VW Passat which I have owned for the past two years. I have not had any mechanical problems with this car until last Friday.
I filled my car up with fuel twice last week at Tesco in Littlehampton, West Sussex and again on Friday at Tesco in Worthing, West Sussex.
Later on that day my car started misfiring, juddering and losing power. I managed to crawl home from work and called out Green Flag. They seemed to think it was a misfiring fault of some sort, but it would best be checked out by VW garage.
I took my car to a local VW dealer on Monday and to my shock they told me that two things where wrong - the lambda sensor and the throttle body was also damaged.
The garage quoted me £1130 to repair.
Graham AnscombeI can't believe what the news headlines are saying about Tesco/Morrisons fuel contamination.
I have an S-reg Mercedes that has never given me any trouble, but recently it started to splutter on me, and judder uncontrollably quite a few times, with an apparent loss of power.
I took it to my usual garage, but unfortunately they couldn't place the fault and did not want to start any expensive repairs in case they turned out not to be the cause.
I usually use Morrisons fuel but on two occasions recently used Tesco fuel.
Stephen Doran
For a few times after using Tesco fuel I have problems getting my car started. I did not think anything of it at first, but I will investigate this further as my car keeps stalling and shuddering.
