I filled up with diesel at my local Morrisons store. Soon afterwards, my car became sluggish and the electrics stopped working.
GabrielI filled up our four-year-old Toyota Corolla at Morrisons last Thursday and immediately the car started playing up and the engine malfunction light came on. My dealer says the oxygen sensors need replacing, but that was before the news about bad fuel broke.
John SmithI filled up my Saab 9-3 Aero on Tuesday February 20 with the usual unleaded at Tesco, Bishop's Park, Bishop's Stortford. After less than a mile the car was juddering and losing power.
I took it to Squire Furneaux, Welwyn Garden City, the following day and their diagnostics tests showed a problem in the catalytic converter. They ordered new oxygen sensors, which were fitted today.
Squire Furneaux should be commended for carrying out this work under warranty despite the car having done 41,000 miles. I gather many other motorists have not been so lucky.
John EdgecombeI filled up with unleaded fuel at Tesco, Reading, Berkshire on February 15. My Citroen C8 began losing power, then suddenly regaining it.
Our car went into Citroen on Monday February 26 after a problem began on February 23. Citroen had until now been unable to find the cause of the problem, until they phoned this afternoon after the fuel news broke to say that this must be the problem with our car.
They are going to empty the fuel tank tomorrow and replace it with £10 of Shell fuel to see if this solves the problem. Of course, they are saying that the cost of replacing any sensors will not be covered under warranty.
