Kia’ Geneva show stand featured its all-new
Ford Focus rival, the Cerato.
The four-door saloon and five-door hatchback range will replace the Mentor and Shuma in July. Prices have yet to be confirmed, but the Cerato is likely to have generous standard equipment including automatic headlights and the choice of either a CD player or MP3 music system.
The Cerato is aimed squarely at the highly competitive small family car market led by the Focus, but is slightly longer than the Ford. Kia says the car will have class-leading cabin space.
Four engines will be offered - 1.6- and 2.0-litre petrols, and 1.5 and 2.0 diesels – along with five-speed manual and four-speed automatic gearboxes.
