Geneva motor show 2008 - Fiat Fiorino

04 March 2008
Turning vans into passenger-carrying cars is becoming something of a trend, and Fiat is the latest car maker to reveal a junior contender.

The Fiorino mini-MPV will carry up to five people and has six different seating configurations to maximise cargo capacity.

There is a choice of two engines: a 75bhp 1.3-litre diesel with 140lb ft of pulling power or a 73bhp 1.4-litre petrol with 87lb ft of pull. A five-speed manual gearbox comes as standard, with a six-speed automatic gearbox available as an option.

The car shares its underpinnings with the Fiat Panda. It will be reworked and sold by Citroen as the Nemo and Peugeot as the Bipper.

Prices are likely to start at under £8000 when the Fiorino goes on sale in late 2008.
