Geneva motor show 2008 - Koenigsegg CCX and CCXR special editions

04 March 2008
As if Koenigsegg's CCX and CCXR creations weren't a rare enough sight on our roads, the company has brought out two limited editions just to make anyone trying to complete their Ladybird Book of Supercars work that bit harder.

The CCX Edition is powered by an eye-wateringly powerful 870bhp 4.8-litre twin-supercharged V8 engine. If you want one, you'll have to move fast because just 14 are being made.

But if that's not exclusive – or powerful – enough, there's always the biofuel-powered CCXR Edition. Just six of these cars will go on sale and power is extended to 1018bhp.

Both Edition models are more track-biased than the 'standard models'. They feature stiffer springs and anti-roll bars, reset dampers and lowered chassis.

They also incorporate a large adjustable rear wing, larger front splitter and side strakes for increased downforce.

If you are rich and quick enough, the CCX edition will be available from £870,000 and the CCXR from £975,000.
