Geneva motor show 2009 - Aston Martin DBS Volante

03 March 2009
Fancy the feeling of wind in your hair at 191mph, while simultaneously listening to acoustically perfect music?

Then the Aston DBS Volante is the car for you.

The car has a fabric roof that opens and closes at the push of a button. It takes 14 seconds to go down and can operate at speeds of up to 30mph.

The car is powered by Aston 's 510bhp 6.0-litre V12 engine, which has 420lb ft of pulling power. The car has a top speed of 191mph and can blast from 0-62mph in 4.3sec.

A six-speed manual gearbox is standard, but buyers can opt for a six-speed semi–automatic unit.

As with the coupe version, the Volante has carbon ceramic brakes as standard. Buyers can opt for 20-inch alloy wheels that reduce weight by 8kg.

Aston describes the car as a 2+2, saying the rear seats are for 'younger persons or extra luggage'.

A Bang & Olufsen BeoSound DBS stereo takes care of music, featuring 13 speakers and a system that automatically detects if the roof is up or down and adjusts accordingly.

The Aston DBS Volante will go on sale this autumn. Prices start from around £135,000.
