Geneva motor show 2009 - Maserati Granturismo S Automatic

03 March 2009
It's mix 'n' match time at Maserati again. The company, committed to introducing a new model at every major motor show, has been digging into its limited stock of body styles, engines, transmissions and suspension systems to produce another variant, the Granturismo S Automatic.

For the Geneva show, the 440bhp 4.7-litre V8 engine is mated to a six-speed ZF automatic gearbox in the stunning Granturismo four-seater coupe.

The car also has Maserati's Skyhook electronically-controlled damping and 20-inch wheels. Previously, the automatic Granturismo had only a 4.2-litre V8.

Even though the gearbox is a full automatic, it has been programmed to give the driver greater manual control through the steering column-mounted gearshift paddles. Similar software was recently introduced with great success in the Quattroporte Sport GT S saloon.

The Granturismo S Automatic arrives in the UK in April and will be priced at £89,860.
