Geneva motor show 2011 - Kia Picanto

28 February 2011
The wraps are off Kia's new Picanto, which goes on sale in June with prices starting at just over £8000.

Unlike the old model, the new Picanto will also be available as a three-door version. It's also longer than the car it replaces with an extended wheelbase for improved rear legroom.

Two petrol engines will be available, a 1.2-litre 84bhp engine that'll do 66mpg with CO2 at 100g/km and a super-frugal 3-cylinder 1.0-litre engine with 68bhp, 69mpg and 95 g/km of CO2.

Kia says that both engines are capable of running on LPG without conversion, which will bring emissions down to 90g/km of CO2.

The all-new interior is both stylish and well built for a budget car, while Kia is expecting a minimum four star Euro NCAP crash rating.
