Geneva motor show 2011 - Maserati

28 February 2011
High performance is the order of the day on the Maserati stand, with the Grancabrio S and Granturismo MC Stradale sharing the limelight.

Grancabrio S
The S is the new range-topping version of the Grancabrio, and comes with a sportier set-up for its Skyhook active-suspension, as well as a more powerful version of the 4.7-litre V8 engine and a quicker-shifting automatic gearbox.

Although that means the car has a 2mph higher top speed than the standard car –177mph – it’s also 6% more fuel-efficient.

Visually, it stands out from lesser Grancabrios with a black grille, black-look headlights and remodelled body-colour sideskirts, and will go on sale in the summer.

Granturismo MC Stradale
Maserati’s other show star – and its most expensive car – the £110,000 Granturismo MC Stradale, is already on sale. This is a race-car-inspired flagship for the company’s coupe range, and we’ve already driven it. You can find our report here.
