Geneva Motor Show - BMW

Have I seen this somewhere before?
Yes, it's the production-ready version of the Z4 Coupe concept that BMW unveiled at Frankfurt last year.

The concept car was pretty much the finished article, and pictures of this finished car were released in January, so there aren't too many surprised faces around the BMW stand at Geneva this year.

That's not to say it isn't a nice looking car, though. The Z4 roadster on which it is based was always one of the most natural contenders for BMW designer Chris Bangle's 'flame surfacing' treatment, and it works well on the coupe, too.

Does it go as well as it looks?
Almost certainly. The roadster is great to drive, and the added stiffness from its steel roof should put an even bigger fun factor into its handling.

Give me some numbers
The entry-level 3.0si Coupe is priced from £31,375 in SE specification and from £32,900 in Sport trim. Its 261bhp 3.0-litre engine brings it to 62mph in 5.7sec and on to a restricted top speed of 155mph. Fuel consumption on the combined cycle is 31.7mpg.

The stonking Z4 M Coupe range-topper costs £41,240 and takes just 5.0sec to get to 62mph. Top speed remains a restricted 155mph, while fuel consumption increases to 23.3mpg.

What else has BMW got under its hat?
We should also see the 3 Series coupe and convertible unveiled this year, as well as the three-door version of the 1 Series.
