Ford with an Italian flavour
That's the new Coupe-Cabriolet, which has been developed in co-operation with Italian design house Pininfarina.

The car, which has a folding metal roof will go on sale in the UK in the late summer. Expect to pay from around £17,000.

Initially three engines will be available – 99bhp 1.6-litre and 143bhp 2.0-litre petrol engines, or a 2.0-litre diesel producing 134bhp.

Ford hasn't yet decided on the final specifications, but expect reasonable equipment on every model, including air-conditioning, plenty of airbags and a CD stereo.

Just like buses…
You wait and wait for a new seven-seat MPV from Ford to turn up and then two arrive at once.

Both the S-Max and the new Galaxy go on sale in the UK this June - the S-Max is priced from £16,767 to £21,767, and the Galaxy is expected to start at about £21,000.

One's sporty…
The S-Max is hoping to please buyers looking for a racier style of MPV. The sporty theme – Ford calls it kinetic design – is a first from the manufacturer and we can expect a similar look on the new Mondeo when it comes out next year.

Entry-level models use a 123bhp 1.8-litre petrol engine or a 137bhp 2.0-litre diesel, but a range-topping 2.5-litre petrol unit pumps out 215bhp and can go from standing to 60mph in 7.5 seconds.

Don't think that the S-Max isn't practical, though. There's space for seven people on board (although not much room for their luggage as well), while the five rear seats all fold flat into the floor when not required. Ford calls it its Fold Flat System (FFS for short). You can also opt for just a five-seat version.

…the other's more spacious
The Galaxy is a more conventional people-carrier.

It's even bigger than the model it replaces, so it's gunning for the big boys such as the Chrysler Grand Voyager and Renault Grand Espace. There's bags of room inside for seven as a result, and more space than ever for their luggage, too.

Forget the days when you had to unclamp seats and haul them out if you needed more space. The Galaxy also uses Ford's FFS, so now you just have to tug on a lever and the five individual rear seats fold flat to create and nice, big loadbay.

Choose from 1.8- and 2.0-litre diesels developing 98bhp, 123bhp or 137bhp, or a 142bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine.
