Geneva Motor Show - Nissan

28 February 2006
Terranaut, the new Terrano – right?
Wrong. Despite the name, this 4x4 concept from Nissan is a pretty good match in size for another of Nissan's 4x4s – the tough Patrol GR. So it might hint at how a replacement for the Patrol could look instead.

Asymmetrical doors and plenty of test tubes
Enormous though it may be, the Terranaut only has space for one, and the rear door on the driver's side opens backwards to provide easier access to the rear.

Why? Because there's a laboratory installed in the back of this concept car, which Nissan has designed for all those adventurous globetrotting scientists.

Don't worry, though – the new Patrol is highly likely to have four conventionally opening doors and space for up to seven people when it arrives in 2008 or so.
