Volkswagen's next Golf small family car is set to be unveiled at the Paris motor show in 2008.
The car was originally scheduled to arrive at the Frankfurt motor show this year, but, along with other models, its arrival has been delayed by VW boss Martin Winterkorn.
Winterkorn is said to have been unhappy with the quality of products as well as their cost. Many have been sent back to the drawing board, and existing models have been scrutinised to see where quality can be improved.
The former Audi boss is also thought to have delayed the arrival of the Golf-based Tiguan 4x4 to later this year, while other niche projects, such as the Scirocco and Passat four-door coupe, could be axed completely.
