The new Honda Jazz will cost from £9990 – around £700 more than the outgoing model.

The entry-level Jazz is powered by a 89bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine, which averages 55.4mpg and emits just 120g/km of CO2.

A 99bhp 1.4-litre petrol unit is also available, averaging 53.3mpg and emitting 124g/km of CO2. It can be specified with Honda’s i-SHIFT semi-automatic gearbox for £800.

Manual versions of the Jazz go on sale in October 2008, with the semi-automatic on sale from January 2009.
