Many car manufacturers are taking the VAT increase on the chin by offering VAT-based discounts on their cars.
Hyundai and Seat are offering the full 20% discount of some of their cars, while Seat is also offering savings of 10% on further models.
Selected Hyundai i10, i20 and i30 models qualify for the full 20%, while a wide range of Seat's Ibiza, Leon, Altea and Exeo cars get the 10% or 20% discount.
All versions of the new Alhambra MPV qualify for the 10% discount, which effectively takes the tax back to the level it was when VAT was introduced in 1973. Seat is also hoping to attract buyers with a range of 0% finance deals.
