How good is our crystal ball? - Smart Fortwo

In summer 2006, the first pictures of the new Smart Fortwo emerged.

It showed evolution rather than revolution, but there were still some important changes.

It was bigger in all directions for a start, which gave it increased passenger and luggage space.

The silhouette is very similar to the old Fortwo's, but even though we haven't got a picture of the back, it's clear there are two bubbles on the tail-light clusters, instead of the three on the old model.

The biggest difference, though, are the headlights, which are longer and thinner - almost like some Peugeots.

The artist had the double-bubble tail-lights spot-on. The headlights are similar, but the change isn't quite as radical as predicted in the CGI.

It wouldn't have been difficult to predict, though - it was only ever supposed to be a minor update for the Smart.
