How good is our crystal ball? - So what's next?

18 October 2007
Our artist predicts how some important models in the coming years will look, including a Mercedes CLS rival from Audi, the next Ford Focus and an as yet unnamed replacement for the Vauxhall Vectra family car.

Audi A7
A Mercedes CLS rival from Audi looks set to go on sale in late 2009. It'll be based heavily on the forthcoming A6.

BMW City
Expect to see the Mini-based City in 2010. Carbon dioxide emissions are rumoured to be below 100g/km.

Fiat 500
The standard 500 hasn't even reached the UK yet, but already there are rumours of a stretched Giardinetta version to take on the Mini Clubman.

Ford Focus
The current Focus is about to undergo a mid-life face-lift, so expect an all-new model in 2009.

Honda Accord
The Accord was face-lifted earlier this year, but we expect a stylish all-new model in the next year or so.

Vauxhall Vectra
Vauxhall's new family car looks set to hit showrooms at the end of 2008 - only it won't be called a Vectra. The rumour is that it'll be named Insignia.

Volkswagen Scirocco
No-one really knows if the Scirocco name will be revived, but a Scirocco-style coupe could be on sale as early as 2008.
