How to change a tyre - Jack up your car

Check that the handbrake is firmly on and put the car into first gear if it’s a manual or park if you have an automatic. If you have a chock, put it behind the wheel in case the jack fails.

Find the jacking point by reading your manual, and raise the car so that the wheel is just clear of the ground.
