Keep the windows and sunroof shut.
Tune and service your engine.
Keep tyres inflated correctly.
Use cruise control whenever it's possible to do so.
Avoid carrying excess weight.
Take the roofrack off.
Avoid rush hour – try to travel off-peak.
Avoid small fuel fill-ups – petrol evaporates when the filler cap is removed.
Avoid excess idling – switch the engine off in long delays.
Plan trips to avoid congestion.
