The nights are longer and it's getting colder. The great British weather will do its best to dump rain, sleet, hail and snow on the roads, making your trips longer and more dangerous.

On average, nine people die on UK roads every day, with roughly 50% of all reported road traffic accidents at night occurring in wet conditions.
