How to... ready your car for an iPod - Jack-to-jack connector

02 November 2007
A jack-to-jack connector is often the cheapest way to listen to your iPod while driving, but you'll need a 3.5mm auxiliary input socket in your car.

Many cars come with this as standard, either on the stereo itself, or in the glovebox or centre armrest.

Sound quality is excellent, but if your car doesn't have an 'Aux in' socket, you'll have to buy a new radio - and that will work out a lot more expensive than either an FM transmitter or cassette adaptor.
