How to... upgrade your car's stereo - Are upgrades worth it?

The cheaper the car, the bigger the reward for upgrading the stereo. More expensive cars usually have better stereos, and in some cases it's not worth spending more unless you have super-sensitive ears. The alternative - upgrading the hi-fi yourself after you've bought the car - will be cheaper than the average upgrade and you can get an appreciably better audio experience.
