The Getz, Hyundai’s best-selling model, is now available with a new look and a revised engine line-up.
The Korean car maker has given the car clear wraparound headlamps, black bumper inserts and new wheeltrims and alloy wheels for a sportier look. Hyundai claims it has been designed specifically to enhance the car’s appeal to European motorists.
Inside, the new Getz has a redesigned instrument panel and centre console, with new materials. Air-conditioning is now standard on all entry-level GSI models, as are twin airbags and front electric windows.
Uprated CDX models also receive 14-inch alloy wheels, side airbags, front foglights, electric heated door mirrors, rear electric windows, alarm and sunroof (except on the 1.1 CDX).
Under the bonnet there’s a revised 1.1-litre petrol engine from the previous Getz and a new, more powerful 1.4-litre petrol to replace the outgoing 1.3. There’s also an all-new 1.5-litre common-rail turbodiesel engine, available in either 87bhp or 109bhp format. All engines now comply with Euro IV emissions standards.
The 105bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine previously employed in the Getz Sport has been dropped. A new CDX+ model, using the more powerful diesel, replaces the Sport as the range’s most dynamic model, with rear spoiler, metal-effect centre console and leather-trimmed steering wheel and gearlever.
The face-lifted Getz is in showrooms now, with a launch offer of three years’ free servicing for buyers who order before December 31, to complement Hyundai’s standard five-year warranty.
